Athens – Citing the need for greater cooperation between units from different branches on the regional level and the deteriorating relations with local powers such as the Republic of Iraq, Imperial Command has created a new military formation called a Force. Forces will be composed of Armies, Air Divisions, Fleets and/or Marine Expeditionary Forces. In some cases ARES formations may also be attached.

The first of these Forces, named the 1st Force ‘Troy’, will be assigned to the Greater Middle East and initially consist of the Second, Third, Fifth, and Sixth Armies, the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th Air Assault Armies, 1st Strategic Air Army, 20th, 22nd, 25th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 33rd Unmanned Air Armies, the Third Fleet, and the III Marine Expeditionary Force. It will be commanded by General Vitomir Pavic of the Hellenic Army and previous Commander, Third Army. As the Commander, 1st Force his first assignment will most likely be the invasion of Iraq by the Byzantine League and partners. Unique is that the Peshmerga force has also been placed below the 1st Force, the first time a regional military force is formally included under an Imperial command and likely an indication that the Hellenic Forces intend to rely heavily on Kurdish fighters to pacify the region.

According to sources inside the Ministry of Defence and Imperial Palace, the upcoming war is meant to test the usefulness of this new formation and its effect on effectiveness of the forces under it. If successful more Forces are likely to be created for specific areas considered as problematic, while failure would probably mean the entire concept will go into the trash. As such, the pressure on the General to prove himself is enormous.

The 1st Force will initially be headquartered in Antioch and has immediately been activated for action.
