Athens – It had long been theorized to be possible, but earlier today the Ministry of Defence made official. Nuclear power can be used for military purposes, and the Hellenic Forces have done so successfully. While almost all details of the test remain shrouded in secrecy, a spokesperson for the Magistrate of Defence has stated that the test expected all expectations and was completed early this month.
As far back as World War II the United Kingdom and Nazi Germany both experimented with using nuclear power for military purposes. Neither managed to achieve this before the end of the war and the economic problems afterwards made the project too expensive to continue. Satellites owned by several universities have identified several locations that scientists believe governments are working on nuclear weapons. As such while Athens is the first, it will certainly not be the last.
The announcement comes a a delicate time as the government has also released an ultimatum to the German government to release all citizens illegally detained for their heritage. Many analysts believe that the timing of the announcement serves a secondary role of adding pressure onto the Greater German Empire to agree to the ultimatum, or possibly face these weapons in war.
